User experience is an exploding field. Covid has driven human interactions online and contactless, and those interactions that drive all business success are all hidden. The UX research craft addresses these challenges head on.
We can unpack those challenges into Five Core User Experience Principles:
One: It’s all virtual
Much of our success in the world is now dependent on what we’re able to accomplish online. We now operate in a vastly interconnected world, driven ever more virtual by Covid-19. And we’re never going back.
Two: Human decisions drive all outcomes
In that vast online world, real people make all the decisions that drive everything. The interactions between humans and their Interactive panels of glass determine our success or failure. The entire economy relies on this simple fact.
Three: We have no answer to the crickets
We have all experienced agony and anticipation, disappointment and desire about our online results. We invest time, effort, money, and our own credibility in our online programs, but they don’t meet expectations, and they miss their goals — often by A LOT.
Four: All knowledge is hidden
The challenge of this virtual world is the fact that all that human activity is invisible. We can’t see what users are doing at any given moment. It’s all hidden.
Five: The truth will set you free
Through the rigorous study of user experience, all that users attempt can be made visible and can be made to work to their benefit and to the benefit of the business as well. User experience professionals’ mission is to deliver this truth.
