Why is this important?
It is the one path to truly exceptional outcomes and breakaway online performance; it’s a constant process of ‘peeling the HCI onion’ to uncover and refine further opportunities for excellence.
This process of continuous process improvement, of always asking, validating, refining, and repeating isn’t unique to HCI, it represents a culture and a mindset of excellence that works in many situations. For the study of HCI, and how that impacts your online and business success, it represents the only true and proven path to sustainability and brilliance.
And like so much else that I’ve shared in the Workshop, it’s a competitive imperative. Your competitors are talking to the same users that you’re trying to reach and those competitors are mastering how those users interact with their technology.
From years of experience, I can almost guarantee you that you’ll find opportunities and make discoveries that you never knew existed, or that you never thought possible. Many of those insights are probably buried, and you may need to peel the onion several layers to uncover them.
Two aspects of this will never stop changing and evolving: user needs, preferences, and behaviors, and available technology are always a moving target. Mastery HCI for the benefit of your users, your business or operations, and your own professional acumen is NOT an event, it’s a path and an on-going process. And it’s been proven over and over again.
